Reverend Donnell L. Hegler is the Senior Pastor of the
historic Douglas Chapel Missionary Baptist Church of El Dorado,
Arkansas. He was officially installed as the ninth pastor of the
church in March 1979.
Rev. D. L. Hegler was
licensed to preach the Gospel in October 1976 at Pleasant Grove Baptist
Church, and was ordained to the Gospel Ministry in 1979 at Pleasant
Grove Baptist Church of Camden, Arkansas by Rev. B.C. Thomas.
He received his Bachelor
of Science degree in Speech and Drama from the University of Arkansas at
Pine Bluff. He earned his Masters of Education degree from Southern
Arkansas University in Agency Counseling. He serves as Dean of
Christian Education for the Friendship District Association. Click

pastoral responsibilities, he is a recently retired educator (25 years
of services).
Reverend Hegler is
married to the beautiful Shelia (Collins) Hegler. She is a native
of Camden, Arkansas. The Heglers have been married for 26 wonderful
years. Sister Hegler is an educator with El Dorado Public Schools, where
she currently teaches 3rd grade at Murmil Elementary School, and
nominated for the 2006 El Dorado Teacher Excellence Awards. Mrs. Hegler also serves as musician for Douglas Chapel, teaches Sunday
School, and teaches music to youth in her free time.
